Welcome to my personal page!

My name is Christina Fischer and I’m a passionate researcher working in the field of animal ecology, agricultural science and nature conservation. I study the causal relationships between the drivers of land use change, biodiversity, and ecosystem functioning to find trade-offs between human needs and ecological sustainability. I’m mainly working in agricultural landscapes, but also in urban areas, where I study a wide range of terrestrial taxa. Furthermore, I focus on combined effects of land use and climate change in tropical forest ecosystems and in African savannahs.

Together with my students, collaborates from different disciplines in Germany and Europe, and local stakeholders I aim to answer various research questions and transfer the results into management action.
